Yokaitober Day 3 - Bareneko

Criminy, getting these out is exhausting. Curse you, school! Anyways, greetings, fellow deviants. The DreadLockedCipher here. Welcome back to Yokaitober! Tonight, we'll be talking about the Bareneko, or rather, the monster cat.

The Bareneko, simply put, is a cat demon that can be born from a regular cat. Should the feline live past 13 years, they start to develop supernatural powers, and even start walking on their hind legs. As they get older, they can grow to large heights, even to that of an adult human.

In terms of their powers, they can shape-shift, transforming into smaller cats, humans and even their own masters. They can speak human languages, eat things bigger than them, and can even summon ghostly fireballs. They're also capable of reviving the dead and using them as puppets.

A superstition popped up of the sign of a cat becoming a Bareneko: having a very long tail. As such, the practice of bobbing a cat's tail started to prevent the yokai from coming out.

The bareneko is a creature that seems as troublesome as kappa. While kappa can be honorable, bareneko are simply troublemakers. However, I just can't help but love it. I always knew that some cats can be jerks. But now, it all makes sense. They're plotting our downfall! ... Or maybe I'm just paranoid.

EDIT: Hi, guys! Uh, so a bit of an update. I decided to go back to this one because, dear Santa, this thing looked abysmal. This is what happens when you don't prepare for a monthly art event, people. You might make some pretty crappy stuff. SOMETHING MUST CHANGE. As such, I updated the look of the bareneko into looking a 100x more appealing than before. I think it looks better than before. I hope you guys like the redesigned look.
